Ronda Rousey and Tina Fey are doing a comedy together, because life is weird and wonderful
We are not worthy of Ronda Rousey. She’s best known for being a badass UFC Champion, but when she’s not busy training, she’s working on her blooming acting career. Last year, she appeared in Furious 7 and the Entourage movie. This year she’s starring in a remake of Road House, directed by Nick Cassavetes. And now, prepare yourselves for the best news of all: Ronda is working on a comedy with Tina Fey.
According to Deadline, Universal Pictures acquired a pitch for a Fey/Rousey movie titled Do Nothing Bitches. The pitch came from Paula Pell, the writer behind Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Sisters, and longtime writer on Saturday Night Live. So you KNOW it’s going to be good.
The movie’s working title comes from a term that Ronda has been careful to avoid becoming: a DNB. After explaining the term in an interview, it became a viral sensation. Even Beyoncé gave the phrase a shoutout during a live concert. Watch the clip and hear Ronda explain the term in her own words. (Note: She uses strong language)
The plot is being kept under wraps for now, but Ronda’s views on female self-worth will definitely drive the theme. Deadline reports that Do Nothing Bitches will likely be “a female-empowerment tale dealing with wealthy pampered wives who get a rude awakening at a camp where Rousey plays the no-nonsense instructor.”
Can’t wait that long? We’ll get a glimpse of Ronda’s acting chops when she hosts next weekend’s episode of SNL! Maybe Tina will make a surprise appearance?
