Bloody hell, Ron Weasley is finally coming to TV
We watched him grow up before our eyes as the hilarious Ron Weasly, but now we’ll get see him take on a seriously grown-up character in Crackle’s new streaming series Snatch. The 10-episode digital series will stream on the Sony-based online network and will be based on the awesome movie of the same name.
ICYMI, Snatch is an ensemble comedy action film written and directed by Guy Ritchie that came out in 2000 and starred Jason Statham and Brad Pitt (along with a ridiculously stacked ensemble cast).
Crackle will recreate the magic of that dark comedy adventure in this upcoming series. Grint not only be the lead, but is also set to executive produce.
The show itself will be based on the film, but have completely new characters.
According to TV Line, the new series, like the film, will feature an ensemble cast. These young hustlers accidentally find a crazy amount of gold and, before they know it, are somehow involved in the dangerous world of organized crime.
The high stakes in the series will likely be likely matched by some awesome comedic moments, which the original film is known for and Grint can absolutely nail. Hemlock Grove‘s Dougray Scott and Gossip Girl‘s Ed Westwick will star alongside Grint.
With all that talent mixed with an already spectacular storyline, it’s sure to be a knockout.
