“Rogue One” just got given the honest trailer treatment, and now we’re crying with laughter

It was only a matter of time until Rogue One got the honest trailer treatment, and now that it’s here we can’t stop laughing.

It’s no secret that the honest trailers for some of our fave movies have had us cracking up in the past. Whether it’s the fact that Doctor Strange’s cape is the true hero of Doctor Strange, the fact that Beast is just as bad as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, the idea that Willy Wonka& the Chocolate Factory was actually a misanthropic examination of the human race, and this epic takedown of Shrek, we absolutely can’t get enough of them.

Now the Screen Junkies, the YouTube channel behind the honest trailers, has decided to pick apart Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and we’re laughing so hard it’s bringing tears to our eyes.

Firstly the trailer picks up on how people commonly misspelt Rogue One “Rouge One,” before going on to say:

"Get ready for Disney's first Star Wars anthology movie, because there's no way in hell they'd call it Star Wars Prequel 4, in what has to be the most money anyone has every spent to fill in a plot hole."

The clip also dubs the movie the Suicide Squad given their mission, and picks up on all those moments from the movie that appeared in the trailer but didn’t make it into the final cut (thanks to those extensive re-shoots). The honest trailer also picks up on some other completely hilarious moments, including those easter eggs hidden deep inside the film.

Of course, we absolutely LOVED Rogue One when it was released, and these honest trailers are just a bit of fun, right? In fact, it was so great to see an action movie with such a diverse cast of characters, and it was pretty cool to get an insight into some of the extended universe of Star Wars.
