These behind-the-scenes “Rogue One” images are hauntingly beautiful
If you’re like us, chances are you’re still obsessed with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. We’re still completely enamored by the standalone film, months after its release. Alex Benetel, an Australian photographerm, is now giving us a new Star Wars gift to swoon over. Benetel was lucky enough to be asked by Disney and Instagram to take photos on the set of Rogue One and the pictures are ~truly~ stunning.
Of the experience, which took place in London in 2015, Benetel revealed that she was the only photographer outside the United States and Canada to attend. As she explained to PetaPixel, “It was an unforgettable, once in a lifetime opportunity. There were only four of us invited and I was the only photographer outside of the U.S. and Canada.”
Check out some of the stunning shots:
These pictures are so stunning, and real, we almost forget that they’re from a movie set. Benetel is able to masterfully capture the life of Jedha, Eadu, Rogue One aircraft, amongst others, and we are loving them.
In one of her shots, Benetel noted, “It’s amazing that amongst the incredible yet chaotic process of filming a movie, I was able to capture this quiet, yet powerful moment behind the scenes.”
Posting the photos in batches on her Instagram page, Benetel also revealed that she was able to unveil some of the photos in front of Rogue One director Gareth Edwards. Benetel shared with her over twenty thousand Instagram followers that she attended the premiere of Rogue One, telling fans, “I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to see a film. It exceeded all of my expectations.”
In a caption, Benetel noted, “It was probably the most surreal, amazing, incredible, out of this world thing I've ever done!!
We totally agree that the photos are out of this world. We’re absolutely in love with Benetel’s photos and hope she continues to post her behind the scenes shots!
