Zooey Deschanel and Bill Murray rock our worlds in the ‘Rock the Kasbah’ trailer
Our very own Zooey Deschanel — actress, singer, and woman of our hearts — is co-starring in the upcoming comedy Rock the Kasbah, out later this year, and Apple has just released the first official trailer!
The film follows Richie Lanz (played by the one and only Bill Murray), a down-on-his-luck rock tour manager, after his last remaining star (Zooey) abandons him during a USO tour in Afghanistan. Murray struggles to find his way without a passport or any money, and chaos and hilarity ensue. It seems like things are looking bleak until he discovers a girl (Leem Lubany) with an incredible voice — who he then tries to sneak into Kabul in order for her to compete on Afghan Star, a singing competition show that’s basically equivalent to American Idol (pre-cancelation). The film also stars Kate Hudson, Bruce Willis, Danny McBride, and Scott Caan — and unsurprisingly, it looks all kinds of amazing.
