Rock Star Daughters We Love
They were born to parents who have been making music for decades. You will not find these rock star offspring working in accounting or IT; instead, they are using their pedigree to forge their own career and be known for more than their surname. Here are some rock star daughters who are noteworthy and possibly cooler than their famous parents.
Jemima Kirke
Best known for playing the free-spirited Jessa in Girls, Jemima is the daughter of rock drummer Simon Kirke of bands Free and Bad Company. Jemima is somewhat of a reluctant actress who began acting as a favour to friend and director Lena Dunham, first in Tiny Furniture, then Girls. British-American Kirke is also an accomplished artist and a mother of two young children, and manages to rock Jessa’s bohemian attire off-screen. I’m looking forward to more Jessa shenanigans in 2014.
Stella McCartney
The second child of Sir Paul McCartney and his late wife Linda, Stella McCartney has established her own fashion empire. In 2012 she was the creative director behind the uniforms of Great Britain’s athletes for the Olympics. Being a vegetarian and PETA supporter, McCartney is openly against using leather and fur in her clothing and in 2013 she was dubbed as one of Britain’s Top 100 most powerful women. While her sharply tailored range is often worn by Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow, McCartney has also launched her affordable Target range in Australia.
Peaches Geldof
Peaches Geldolf has gone from wild child to serene mother, and cannot stop posting cute photos of her two young sons on Instagram. The daughter of Sir Bob Geldof and Paula Yates is an accomplished journalist and has written columns for various magazines since the age of 14. She has also modeled in the past and been notorious for her partying, but most recently she has become a wife and mother, as well as advocate for Attachment Parenting.
Sophie Tweed-Simmons
Sophie is the daughter or KISS bassist Gene Simmons and Playboy model Shannon Tweed. With these two as parents, you would expect Sophie to be swinging off chandeliers, but she appears to be the opposite, as seen from the family’s reality show Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels. She was against her parents’ facelifts and plastic surgery in general, and has recently lent her name to opening a centre for abused children. Sophie Simmons is also a budding musician and even auditioned for The X Factor.
Zoe Kravitz
Zoe Kravitz, the only daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, has starred in several movies and is possibly best known for her role of Angel Salvadore in X-Men: First Class. She is also the face of Vera Wang’s Princess fragrance and has more than a few tattoos. With her unique style, she has teamed up with Swarovski to design a line of jewellery, which is inspired by her love for travel and turquoise.
