“Riverdale’s” Betty and Veronica love each other so much IRL, because female friendships FTW

Riverdale is a town of mystery and intrigue but also has some of our favorite ladies on TV right now. Between celebrating The Pussycats and standing up for those who have been bullied, the show is also a huge proponent of female friendships. And at San Diego Comic-Con we got to see just how good of friends Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) are IRL.

On Riverdale, Betty and Veronica have had their share of drama but have never let it tear them apart. They’ve remained good friends, and we were happy to discover that the actresses love each other too. When asked about their IRL relationship and whether they had any favorite memories working together, here’s what they had to say:

Lili: Everyday is a great memory working together! Camila: I know! Lili: We're like two peas in a pod honestly. We love working with each other. While [Camila] was talking I was like, 'Yep, my girl.' So we're lucky in that sense.

So, that’s undeniably adorable. But, just because Lili and Camila are besties doesn’t mean their characters will avoid #drama in Season 2. As for the future of Betty and Veronia, Lili had some interesting things to say — which will hit a rough patch in Episode 5:

"When Betty and Veronica do have a conflict with each other and they're not on the same team anymore it does make you realize how much you do love these girls together as a duo and if something does come in between that you're like heartbroken.

It’s so awesome to see ladies who support each other and we can’t wait to see what is in store for this friendship on Season 2 of Riverdale when it premieres October 11th on The CW.
