This is why some “Riverdale” fans are convinced KJ Apa and Camila Mendes are dating IRL
We’ll be the first to admit that an IRL “Bughead” relationship between Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse would make our hearts sing. But to stir the Riverdale pot, some fans are now rooting for IRL “Archronica” (maybe “Varchie?”), and believe that KJ Apa and Camila Mendes might be dating offscreen as well as on.
This conspiracy wasn’t pulled out of the blue. At the end of last season, Archie and Veronica entered into a semi-secretive relationship and the two actors revealed they have major onscreen chemistry. Said onscreen chemistry peaked some fans’ interest and made them wonder if there was something more going on in the IRL love department.

Earlier this week, “Varchie truthers” felt like they were onto something when Apa posted a photo of himself with Mendes and two people who he called “Mum and Dad.”
"Mum and Dad came to visit us, my sister is so annoying omg lol smh," Apa jokingly captioned the pic.

People immediately thought that Apa had brought Mendes to meet his parents and all hell broke loose in the comments section.
And yes, there were a few people confused about whether or not Apa and Mendes are in fact siblings. But let us confirm that they are not.
Although it seemed like a very cute photo from a private dinner with Mendes, Apa, and Apa’s parents, “Mum and Dad” are actually Mendes’ manager, Lena Roklin, and another man who definitely isn’t Apa’s dad.
So we’re back to where we started — without much evidence that Varchie is a thing. Sorry, gang.
Until more Apa-Mendes-couple evidence is revealed, we’ll go back to being Bughead-obsessed for now.
