The “Riverdale” showrunner wants to do an “Arrowverse” crossover, and we’re excited just thinking about it

The producers and creative team behind The CW’s Riverdale hit WonderCon in Anaheim this past weekend. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Executive-Producer Sarah Schechter and Archie Comics’ CEO Jon Goldwater all sat down to talk about Season 2, and their hopes of making an Arrowverse crossover happen. *Fingers crossed*
Ever since Arrow and The Flash started making crossover episodes a totally normal part of The CW, other shows on the network have followed suit. Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl both have had crossover episodes within the “Arrowverse” — and everyone loves them. So now that Riverdale, another comic book-based show on The CW has been guaranteed a second season, can we expect/hope/pray for a huge crossover?! Could we ever be so lucky?
The producers and creatives behind the show are totally interested in a crossover episode with The Flash, Arrow, and/or Supergirl. In fact, Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is already trying to make it happen:
"I don't know if there's going to be but I would love to do a crossover show. I've mentioned it in passing, waiting for Greg [Berlanti] to be like, 'Yeah, let's do it', but it hasn't happened yet."
And what could the storyline be? Roberto loves Archie Meets the Punisher and thinks it’d be awesome if the Green Arrow visited Riverdale.
"Obviously Punisher's in a different family but I do think Arrow is like the Punisher and it'd be great if the Green Arrow came to Riverdale. I love that crossover. Just putting that out there."
We totally agree!! Executive-Producer, Sarah Schechter, suggests that scheduling could be an issue as far as making the crossover episode happen, but let’s all just put good vibes into the air and pray to the logistics gods so that we can make this happen.
