Rita Ora thinks women should be unapologetically sexy — and she thanks Fifty Shades for that

The Fifty Shades movie franchise might be over, but its legacy is clearly going to live on for some time to come. After three books, and three films based off those books, Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey finally got their happy ending (and hopefully #DramaFree ending), but they weren’t the only characters in the story.

HelloGiggles recently sat down (IN FRANCE) with Rita Ora, who played Christian’s sister, Mia, in all three movies — and who finally snagged a song on the soundtrack, which was, tbh, long overdue. As for her own lasting memories of the movie, Ora reflects on the fact that Mia was “a character I could have fun with. It was my first real role in acting, and I loved it, because it was such a great experience with humongous production.”

But as for Fifty Shades overall, Ora’s happy to be a part of this new conversation about sexuality.

"I think it's really simple, when you see something that's so openly put out there all over the world, I know that I kind of subconscious that you know what, this okay...As a woman in the industry I think it's amazing to see how accepted we are and how we're able to do that now more than ever. And I don't think there's any slowing us down."

Speaking of not slowing down, Ora’s getting ready to drop some brand new music this summer, along with a tour, and she’s excited to have her ladies behind her doing that.

"In the process of writing...I always wanted to celebrate women, and for me, it was my dream to make an anthem. And when [#MeToo] became a movement, it really became a sign. It helped me make sure the vision I had was real and possible."

Fifty Shades Freed is now available on digital download, Blu-ray, and DVD.
