Rihanna may have new music on the way, and OMG, yes please
It hasn’t been very long since music’s number one Bad Gal came fluttering in from Never Land with a new album, but Rihanna may be releasing a new single in the near future, Idolator reports. During a backstage interview at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, the British station’s DJ Nick Grimshaw hinted that a new Rihanna single could be here by the end of this year, which is wonderful news if it’s true, that is.
According to the Daily Mail, Grimshaw’s revelation about the possibility of us getting new music from Rihanna was a slip of the tongue that he tried to cover up, but it’s too late! Once our ears got wind of the possibility of a fresh Riri tune, they held on to the information and refused to pretend like it didn’t happen.
After explaining that the “Love on the Brain” singer has yet to appear live on his show, Grimshaw hinted that we’d hear a new Rihanna jam by the end of the year.
"I heard she’s got new music soon," Grimshaw told The Daily Star. "Well I don't know… it's the end of the year."
Well, that was a bit shaky at best. BUT there just may some validity to the tea Grimshaw spilled. Two new tracks from the 29-year-old pop diva were recently registered with ASCAP — one titled “Phatty” featuring dancehall musician Buju Banton and another called “Only One Who Knows.”
Only one who knows what, Rihanna?! When you’re gonna quench our thirst with some new songs to add to our Riri music rotation? Well, we’re patiently waiting for confirmation of this news. We just hope you find time to let us know so we can be prepared to pour up a little somethin’ in honor of your musical return.
