Rihanna’s new coffee table book will have more intimate moments than a Savage x Fenty show

While we wait for those two albums reportedly in the works and the next Fenty Beauty collection to drop, Rihanna’s giving us a $150, 15-pound, 504-page art book to tide us over. (We can make room on our bookshelves and in our bank accounts, right?) Yesterday, October 7th, the singer and businesswoman announced the upcoming release of her giant new coffee table book, aptly titled Rihanna.
“Over 5 years in the making… happy to finally share this collection of incredible memories. Thanks to all of the photographers & artists that contributed & to @phaidon for working with me to publish my first piece of art in a new industry!” she said in her announcement, tagging publisher Phaidon Press.
According to the publisher, Rihanna is a “stunning visual autobiography” that “showcases intimate photographs of her life as an artist, performer, designer, and entrepreneur.”
The door-stopper features 11 special inserts and 1,050 color images captured over the course of Rihanna’s life and career, many of which have never been published before.
In addition to the standard book, Rihanna will also be available in three super-OTT limited editions. The Fenty x Phaidon edition ($175) comes with a custom steel, tabletop bookstand designed in collaboration with artists The Haas Brothers. Riri diehards with $5,500 to spare can spring for a Luxury Supreme edition, which gets you a Haas Brothers custom cast-resin tabletop bookstand (plated in 18-carat gold color, of course). The Ultra Luxury edition has already sold out to 10 lucky people, including Cardi B, who dropped $110,000 on the book at Rihanna’s Diamond Ball, according to Vanity Fair. Um, we’re obsessed with this story.
Rihanna fans are predictably excited about the artist’s gorgeous new book. And, also predictably, they have a lot to say about its hefty price point, which is fairly standard for an art book, but a splurge nonetheless.
Well I may never “own a house” or “be able to give my kids a good education” but at least I did spend $150 on the pre-order for Rihanna’s new coffee table book #Sound #Financial #Decision

The standard edition of Rihanna will be released on October 24th, Fenty x Phaidon will start shipping on October 10th, and the Luxury Supreme edition will start shipping on November 20th. They’re all available for preorder now, so this might be a good time to download one of those money-saving apps.
