Uh, you guys, Rihanna and Cara Delevingne are making a movie together
I don’t think there’s a better pairing out there than this one. Pop superstar Rihanna and model slash actress extraordinaire Cara Delevingne are slated to both take center stage in Luc Besson’s Valerian, based on the series of graphic novels from 1967 created by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres. The series has sold ten million copies worldwide, so the movie obviously needs stars who are equally as epic.
Did we mention that Ri-Ri and Cara are already tight? Rihanna’s given Cara career advice, they’ve traveled to Rio together, and this past week they partied together like the rock stars they already are. Yeah, they’re going to have a ton of fun on set.
We know that Delevingne has already broken out into the acting scene with her roles in films like Paper Towns and Suicide Squad, but this isn’t Rihanna’s first time on the big screen either. Some of you might remember her previous role in Peter Berg’s Battleship, or last year when she voiced a character in DreamWorks’ Home.
Luc Besson revealed the news yesterday on Instagram:
His caption: “RIHANNA is in VALERIAN!!!!!….and she has a big part!!” A big part? Tease us more, why don’t you! At least we know who Cara will play. A few months ago, she shared the news with her bazillion Instagram followers.
We can now add this to the small pile of information we have about this upcoming and somewhat secretive film. Other cast members include Clive Owen and Dane DeHaan from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Filming is set to begin in France next January, with the release of the film scheduled for July 21st, 2017.
