Rihanna just broke a major record in the music industry

Welp, we feel like slackers today.

Not only did Rihanna send the web into a frenzy with the video premiere of “B*tch Better Have My Money,” she also just hit a career milestone.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that Rihanna has received more than 100 million (count that, 100 million) gold and platinum song certifications — a record that beats both Taylor Swift (88 million) and Katy Perry (78 million).

Put simply, Rihanna is the industry’s leader in digital sales.

While Taylor and Katy certainly do come close, Ri is the only artist in history to surpass the 100 million mark. According to RIAA’s Chairman and CEO, Cary Sherman, “She has not only surpassed RIAAs one-hundred million mark, but also is the first to do so. It’s [a] historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career.” All in a day’s work.

In response to the good news, Ri took to Twitter to thank her fans.

You keep making killer music (and we know you will), we’ll keep helping you break records.  Congrats, Rihanna!
