Ricky Martin married artist Jwan Yosef, and so many congrats!
Ricky Martin has gone from livin’ la vida loca to livin’ la vida married. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story star confirmed his marriage to artist Jwan Yosef to E! News on January 10th.
"We exchanged vows, and we've [sworn] everything, and we've signed all the papers that we needed to sign, prenups and everything," Martin said while on the red carpet at the American Crime Story premiere. It's officially official!
The pair began dating in 2016, and in November of 2017, Martin announced their engagement on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. They met when Martin was hunting for new art to add to his collection. He first fell in love with Yosef’s pieces and later fell for the artist himself. Yosef is a Syrian-born Swedish painter who specializes in plastic arts.
The legendary Puerto Rican singer was the one who nervously proposed. He told DeGeneres,
"I got on my knees and I took out the little metal box. I just had it in a little velvet pouch and instead of saying, 'Will you marry me?' I said, 'I got you something!' Bad," Martin laughed. "Then he was like, 'Yes.' I said, 'I want to spend my life with you,' and he was like, 'What is the question?' 'Would you marry me?' That's it."

In October 2017, Martin revealed to Ocean Drive magazine that he didn’t want a private wedding. So even though they technically married in private, the couple plans to hold a huge three-day wedding bash consisting of “the dinner, the rehearsal, the party and the recovery,” as Martin described to E! News.
"It feels amazing! I can't introduce him as my fiancé. I can't. He's my husband. He's my man," Martin said.

Yosef co-parents Matteo and Valentino, Martin’s nine-year-old twins. “My kids ask me about having two daddies and I tell them we are a part of a modern family,” Martin told Out magazine in a recent interview. “This is a beautiful sense of freedom.”
