The only good April Fool’s prank came from Adult Swim show “Rick and Morty”

April Fool’s Day is one of those holidays that used to not mean much. There’s really only so much people can do to prank the people around them. But with the internet, the holiday (?) took off in a totally new way. Now every brand can offer up some “delightful” twist and, like Super Bowl ads, everyone’s trying to one-up each other. It’s fine. But the Adult Swim show Rick and Morty knew that there was one sure-fire way to pull a fast one on its audience.

Adult Swim dropped the season premiere of Rick and Morty online, then revealed that the rest was coming… in the summer.

The show’s Twitter dropped the announcement yesterday evening:

At first, fans weren’t willing to buy in. But that’s the joke — it actually did happen.

But if you couldn’t make the first livestream, the Adult Swim website is actually still running the episode. Of course, there’s a catch: the episode is playing in a loop. You’ll be able to watch the whole thing, but it’ll probably take a little bit of waiting. Of course, you don’t necessarily have to watch it through the website loop.
