Almost 13 years ago, the insanely talented music students of Horace Green prep school launched to fame overnight in School of Rock. Lead by their fearless power-stance strumming (fake) substitute teacher Mr. Schneebly (née Dewey Finn), this rock star class won our hearts over as we learned about the history of rock right alongside them.

And as the lead guitarist of The School of Rock, Zack “Zack-Attack” Mooneyham (played by Joey Gaydos, Jr.), made us wonder in awe at his insane skills.

But Gaydos, Jr. didn’t just play a rockstar in the movie, because it turns out he’s grown up to be an actual rock god in real life.

Here’s Zack (Gaydos, Jr.) in action now.

This is some seriously moody rock arena level shit going on here.

I mean…

And you can actually hear his recent ~handywork~ in action in this video from a School of Rock reunion late last year.

Gaydos, Jr. also plays with the band Stereo Jane.

A little side by side for nostalgia’s sake.

Horace Green (and we) salute you, Joey!

Already do.
