One of the most fun things about Force Awakens for Star Wars diehards was seeing all our favorite characters from the original trilogy! Han Solo! Chewie! Princess General Leia!

So, for those of you who have seen Force Awakens (Everyone eight times at this point, yeah? Yeah! Otherwise don’t read this/any other Star Wars posts because the spoilers, they be here!) you know that Yoda had the tiniest sliver of a guest appearance. When Rey grabs Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber, visions and whispering voices abound, and one of those voices happens to be that of our favorite two foot tall Jedi Master.

That said, as one of the film’s editors Maryann Brandon told Entertainment Tonight, Yoda almost appeared in the film in the flesh.

“There was one point where we were actually thinking of having Yoda in the film, and then we decided not to,” Brandon explained. “Frank Oz [Yoda’s original puppeteer and voice] came in for a day and did a whole bunch of Yoda and he was over the moon to do it — and we were tickled pink!”

So maybe the footage will end up as a DVD extra or just leaked on YouTube (Please, please, please, please PLEASE Movie Gods, PLEASE?) and if so, maybe it’ll just be fun to see our wise old Jedi Master Yoda once more, or MAYBE the visuals will provide clues re: future films. Specifically the heavily substantiated rumors that Rey is a Skywalker or a Kenobi or a Skywalker-Kenobi HYPHENATE.

We will patiently wait for the next installments for the answers, but with hope, we’ll get some clues before those movies and we would be REALLY down if those clues came in the form of schamazing footage of Yoda, is all we’re saying.
