We’re living in a world with no short supply of amazing lady superheroes, and coming in 2016 we’ll have a few more to add to our roster. Director Bryan Singer is in the middle of filming X-Men: Apocalypse, and the movie will not only feature a young Jean Grey (who we’ve seen in the movies before, and will now be played by Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner this time), but we’re also getting Jubilation Lee, better known as Jubilee. This is totally reason to celebrate.

We’ve already seen Jubilee in X-Men 1, 2, and 3, but now she’s got a starring role — no more hanging out in the background for her. Lana Condor’s playing a young Jubilee in the 1980s, where Apocalypse is set. Singer released the first “official’ image of Condor and Turner to the world, and we’re getting so many ’80s vibes, it’s amazing.

For starters, Condor looks just like Jubilee in the comics, with her trademark yellow jacket and pink glasses.

But just who is she? Once upon a time in the comics, she could electrically charge objects, along with emitting plasmoids, which could be used as force fields to keep something away, or push something down — she thought of them like “fireworks.” Now in the comics, Jubilee is — wait for it — a vampire. And with being a vampire, she’s got vampire skills, like super strength and incredible speed. We probably won’t be seeing vampire Jubilee in Apocalypse, but I guess that’s something to look forward to in the future.

X-Men: Apocalypse has only recently begun filming, and is slated for a May 27th 2016 release. This movie won’t just include Jubilee and Jean Grey, but a whole slew of other kickass ladies, too, like Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, and Olivia Munn’s Psylocke. We’re not complaining at all, the more lady mutants, the better.
