Will Ferrell sings the 'Star Trek' theme song, beams up our hearts
It’s a well-established fact that Will Ferrell can pretty much do anything he sets his mind to – whether it’s winning a drum-off, challenging an opponent to a lip sync battle or testing his ability to correctly identify a Little Debbie snack cake. He’s been all over the talk show circuit promoting his film Get Hard with co-star Kevin Hart – who he faced off with in that lip sync battle! – but we’re all the better for it, because we’re getting all these hilarious, viral moments to watch over and over again.
On The Late Late Show With James Corden, Will admitted that prior to his SNL days he originally tried his hand at being a stand-up comedian. It was ultimately a move that didn’t pan out, but one technique he attempted to try and stand out was to kick off each show by singing the Star Trek theme song – which doesn’t actually have any words, if you know it.
It didn’t take much pressuring from host James Corden to get him to start belting it out, and we’ve got to admit that he has an impressive set of pipes!
See for yourself:
Maybe Will missed his calling as a professional singer – or maybe we can just put in a request for him to make an appearance on the next Star Trek film score. Who’s with me?
