We’re beginning to think that 2017 might be the year of Viola Davis. The star not only picked up the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fences, but she also gave one heck of an acceptance speech, too.

Davis’ win at the Golden Globes marks the first time the 51-year-old star has picked up an award at the event after being nominated five times, and follows her being presented with her star on the Walk of Fame by Meryl Streep earlier last week. Indeed, Davis paid homage to Streep before presenting the Hollywood veteran with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at last night’s ceremony.

If Viola Davis’ speech wasn’t enough, however, the star also spoke about her husband, Julius Tennon, backstage at the Golden Globes, and what she said about their relationship will warm your heart.

Speaking to the press after picking up her award at the event, Davis was asked about how her teamwork with her partner, who was described as “the proudest husband in Hollywood,” makes her better.

Continuing, the star of How to Get Away With Murder went on to say that people now even merge their names together into “Juliusviola.”

We absolutely adore what Viola Davis has to say about relationships and love. Everything she says feels so heavily weighted and powerful, and we could watch her talk forever. We’re so happy that she is finally getting the recognition she deserves and we hope to see her S-L-A-Y the rest of 2017.
