Once a ’90s kid, always a ’90s kid. We can’t help it: We were raised on Nickelodeon. Saturday mornings were for watching Nicktoons and Saturday nights were for watching SNICK. Our favorite catchphrases included “Whyyyy?!” and “A baby’s gotta do what a baby’s gotta do.” To us, Stick Stickly is the greatest talk show host of all time, and getting slimed is the highest honor of all. So when we heard that Nickelodeon was rebooting some of its most-loved shows, we totally lost our chill.

The network is bringing back not one but TWO of our favorite TV shows from the ’90s. Are you ready for this? There will be a live-action TV movie inspired by Legends of the Hidden Temple, plus a two-part Hey Arnold! TV movie. Yes, really!

Hidden Temple the TV movie, starring Isabela Moner, will feature three siblings who must face and conquer obstacles—much like in the OG show. It will also include our Legends favorites like Olmec and the Steps of Knowledge. It’s expected to air in the fourth quarter of this year, with the two Hey Arnold movies following in 2017.

Usually when networks reboot an old show, it’s a sign that things aren’t going so well. They’re out of ideas and they’re just bringing back what worked in the past, people think. But in this case, quite the opposite is true—Nickelodeon is doing quite well. Their ratings have improved and their audience between the ages of 2 and 11 has risen 4 percent. Additionally, the Nick Jr. audience in that demographic has risen 57 percent.

“The company [Viacom] is under a lot of scrutiny, but I don’t think Nickelodeon is under any scrutiny at all,” said Cyma Zarghami, president of Viacom’s cable networks for kids and families. “We have done a tremendous amount of work to build our ecosystem.”

And with two reboots as anticipated as these, Nickelodeon is poised to continue growing. They’ll definitely earn viewers in the late 20s and early 30s demographic!
