One of our favorite weeks ever is coming up. That said, here are five things we can’t wait to see during Shark Week, as Entertainment Weekly reported, and you can see if you agree. After all, Shark Week begins ~tomorrow~, July 23rd, on the Discovery Channel, so see you when the eight days are up! Of course, you probably already have your calendar marked, since all kinds of commercials have been airing to promote the shark-infested week. Our favorite is still Seal being “eaten” by a shark as he sings “Kiss from a Rose” to a bunch of people on a pier. The ad is not only oh-so-clever, but also memorable: How can we ~not~ think about Shark Week now?!

Without further ado, here are our Top 5 things we can’t wait to see during Shark Week, so get your remote ready!

Without further ado, here are our Top 5 things we can’t wait to see during Shark Week, so get your remote ready!

1 Great Gold vs. Great White aka Michael Phelps racing a Great White

Yup, that wasn’t a typo and it’s not a rumor either! Michael Phelps races a Great White shark, and, tbh, we’re not surprised! But, CRAZY, right?! If there’s anyone fit for racing a shark, though, it’s definitely 23-time gold medalist Phelps!

And, judging by the above Instagram post, it looks like Phelps has been in the water with sharks before! Now, you can watch Great Gold vs. Great White on Day 1 of Shark Week, July 23rd at 8 p.m. ET/PT!

2Sharks and the City: New York

HBO

We all miss Sex and the City, right?! Well, watching Sharks and the City: New York will make you all nostalgic when you hear Chris Noth’s — yup, Mr. Big’s — voice as he narrates this show. Marine biologist Craig O’Connell explores the topic of Great Whites around New York and why their numbers may start increasing (hint: more seals in New York Harbor). You can watch this episode on July 25th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

3Return to the Isle of Jaws

Universal Pictures

In this episode, you can see a shark attack survivor/expert, Paul de Gelder, go to a Great White area near Western Australia. He’ll join other experts to uncover more about the Great White species. As for why you should watch the episode, de Gelder explained to EW:

Okay, shark twins?! We’re DEFINITELY intrigued! You can catch this episode on July 24th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Who ~isn’t~ intrigued by sharks and volcanoes?! In this show, you can get a taste of both, so to speak. In it, Dr. Mike Heithaus explores the sea around volcanoes to learn more about why sharks are attracted to them, and we’d love to know, too! You can watch this show on July 26th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

5Shark School With Michael Phelps

Yup, Phelps made our list ~again~, but with very good reason. This time, instead of racing (!!) a Great White, Phelps goes to “shark school.” His professors, so to speak? Dr. Samuel Gruber and Tristan Guttridge of the Bimini Shark Lab. You can watch this episode on July 30th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

We SO agree with Phelps, and can’t wait to watch him in the water with the sharks, as well as all the other Shark Week episodes! As we said before, see you when Shark Week is over! 😉
