Here is a truth not often enough acknowledged: Magic tricks are great and pure. Like, that chopping the woman in half trick still gets us. We’re blown away by magic. So when we get to see magic tricks on television, it is a good day. Fortunately, one of America’s favorite magic duos Penn & Teller just appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. And guess what? They did a seriously impressive card trick.

The magicians and comedians have made several appearances on The Tonight Show. Each time, Fallon is amazed at the power of magic (we would be too). For this segment, Penn & Teller performed a disappearing act involving a balloon, a gun, and a deck of cards.

Here’s how the magic trick went down.

They appear in huge inflatable costumes, with giant cards to match. Penn asks Fallon to pick a card (he gets the two of clubs). Then Penn tells Fallon to throw the cards in the air, and he’ll shoot Fallon’s card with the gun. The two of clubs will then end up inside a yellow balloon that Teller is holding. So what happened?!

Of course, Fallon throws and Penn shoots. But instead of hitting the card, he shoots Teller, deflating his costume. So what happened?! Watch and see:

It’s pure MAGIC! Fallon’s response is all of us.

Then, Penn & Teller did even more magic!

After the card trick, Penn & Teller went backstage to perform an iconic magic trick: the ball and vase. Basically, the magicians made a ball disappear and then reappear in a small vase. But Penn & Teller added to the drama by telling a story about Dracula and vampire clones. We know, very cool. If you want more from the comedians, you can always watch the fourth season of their reality program, Penn & Teller: Fool Us on The CW.

In conclusion, maybe The Tonight Show should always be about magic?
