The Pearsons are officially headed to London — or at least production on NBC hit series This Is Us is.

Season 1 of This Is Us left off with beleaguered sitcom actor Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley) off to meet Ron Howard — yes, that Ron Howard — about a potential role in the director’s next big war movie. Well it turns out, Kevin may have finally gotten that “serious actor” role he’s been waiting for as The Hollywood Reporter just revealed that This Is Us filmed in London in order to include the Oscar winning director in the second season of the show.

Howard has been in London filming the untitled Young Han Solo film, having taken over directing duties from The Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were fired from the project after creative differences with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in June. But somehow, we don’t think this will make it into the This Is Us script.

While it’s unclear how many episodes Howard will appear in, it seems the fictional film will be the center of Kevin’s storyline during the show’s second season. In addition to Howard, Brian Grazer (Howard’s production partner) and Sylvester Stallone will also make appearances during the season, with Milo Ventimiglia confirming that Stallone will be starring as Kevin’s film co-star and on-set mentor.

Speaking of the relationship between Hartley and Stallone’s characters during the TCA summer press tour, creator Dan Fogelman said, “[Stallone] hears what Kevin is experiencing in his life with his own father, and talks to Kevin a little bit about life and acting and memory and aging.”

We’re arming ourselves with tissues already! This Is Us returns on September 26th.
