This is why fans of "The Walking Dead" saw more Trump ads than any other TV fans
If you couldn’t escape all-things Donald Trump during the presidential campaign, you might’ve been watching too much TV. Actually, you might’ve been watching too much of one or two specific shows.
In fact, there is a reason why The Walking Dead fans saw more Trump ads than any other TV fans and it’s kind of interesting.
According to Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner in an interview with Forbes, there were two TV series, The Walking Dead and NCIS that saw way more ads for Trump’s campaign because they were the shows with the most people watching whose political opinions lined up with Trump’s favorite topics and issues.
Kushner revealed that although they didn’t spend a lot of time or money on television and online advertising, and instead focused on Twitter and Facebook to fuel the campaign, these two shows were on their campaign radar.
So why would The Walking Dead see ads?
“Kushner built a custom geo-location tool that plotted the location density of about 20 voter types over a live Google Maps interface,” the publication added.
Who knew your love of naval crimes and zombies meant you were interested in the negatives of ObamaCare and stricter immigration laws?
We always thought it meant that you liked to live on the edge or get a little adrenaline rush as you pigged out on popcorn and binge-watched these shows, but hey, if they data says so then it has to be correct, right?
Ya, maybe not, but it is pretty interesting.
