Since Donald Glover isn't doing enough already, he's now going to make an animated Deadpool TV show
Wow Donald Glover, save something for the rest of us to do. Because he’s not busy enough being an accomplished recording artist, a writer, an actor, the future king of Pride Rock, and Lando Calrissian — he’s got to go ahead and add one more thing to the list. Like, come on, Donald. You’re making the rest of us look bad.
Soon, he won’t just have one show on FX(X), but two. FXX just announced that Glover will be at the helm of a Deadpool animated series!!
“How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX — the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth!,” Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb wrote in a press release. “We’re thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with Legion continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation.”
Per Marvel, the series will be “an animated adult action-comedy TV series adaptation of the hit Marvel character Deadpool,” and don’t hold your breath for Ryan Reynolds to step in and do the voice (but tbh, the pairing of Glover + Reynolds would be the best thing ever, JUST SAYING).
“Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta,” said Nick Grad, president of Original Programming at FX Networks and FX Productions. “With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original.”
All of this sounds right up our alley. Ten episodes of the series have been ordered so far, and they’re slated to hit our television sets in 2018. Chimichangas for everyone!
