Simone Biles is reportedly joining "Dancing With the Stars," and we cannot WAIT to cheer her on
This week, we’re going out with a huge bang housed in a tiny package: Simone Biles has joined Dancing With the Stars, E! News reports. The most fitting response to this exciting news would be a tumbling double half layout, complete with full twist, but we’re pretty sure Biles doesn’t want us bungling her signature move. Cheering her on while wearing a full-body cast just wouldn’t be comfortable or cute, so we’ll settle for some really loud yelling and seal-like clapping.
Back in August, DWTS expressed interest in Biles joining the cast, but she was fresh off the Rio Olympics and busy with touring, so fellow Final Five gymnast Laurie Hernandez went on to appear on and win the show’s 23rd season.
But now that Season 24 is upon us, Biles has reportedly signed on to take her fancy flips, spins and leaps from the gym to the ballroom.
E! also reports that the 19-year-old Olympic medalist will be joined by none other than gold chain-wearing, mohawk-sporting, ’80s phenomenon Mr. T. Um, so seeing his name alongside Biles’ is about as strange as this pic of the tiny gymnast standing next to Shaquille O’Neal.
That can only mean that this season will be one of the most interesting to date. However, the only official DWTS announcement has been the return of Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd.
Still, we’re already planning our watch parties and hashtags because regardless of where Biles shows up, we’re forever #TeamSimone and are always eager to show her some love.
