One of the best additions to Stranger Things this year was Sean Astin. You know, the ’80s icon and the Goonies star. (And if you haven’t watched Stranger Things Season 2, now might be a good time to look away…)

But TV gods giveth, TV gods taketh away, and by the end of Season 2, poor Bob Newby was no more. We’re pretty accustomed to traumatic deaths on Stranger Things at this point, but Bob’s death still inspired a #JusticeForBob campaign — basically the new #JusticeForBarb. Like Barb, we def feel Bob was equally lovely and equally undeserving of such a terrible death, or a death at all.

However, Sean Astin says there’s no need for the campaign! And his reason why is pretty touching, TBH.

Astin feels that Bob’s death was tragic, but it’s one the character would be proud of. And there’s no need to find justice for him, because he already had it.

He also has a better idea for a Bob memoriam hashtag.

And we’re super on board with this, even if we’re tearing up a little thinking about scrolling through it.

Ugh, Bob. Rest in peace.
