Celebrate 4th of July with these "Saturday Night Live" summertime sketches
Just in time for the 4th of July, Saturday Night Live has shared some of its best summertime and patriotic sketches. The show tweeted a holiday playlist from its official Twitter account, writing “Happy Fourth from #SNL!”
And Happy 4th of July, indeed! These SNL sketches are laugh-out-loud funny, and so fun to revisit!
The holiday playlist is captioned, “Celebrating independence one sketch at a time.” And it includes the following standouts:
Short Shorts for the USA
Dale (Will Ferrell) takes advantage of his office encouraging the employees to wear items to show their patriotism. Namely, he shows up to a meeting in a crop top and some very, very short shorts.
Ferrell, in his out-there outfit, really commits and never breaks, but some of the cast appears to — and it’s just the best.
Lawrence Welk: Summer
Revisit the Maharelle sisters — including Kristen Wiig’s Dooneese, who stirs some bizarre and wonderful trouble — in this beachy sketch. Because, Wiig’s classic character just never gets old.
Weekend Update: Will Smith on the Summer Box Office
Jay Pharoah does a stellar Will Smith impression, while speaking with Weekend Update’s Seth Meyers about the summer box office and his family, who he says can do pretty much do anything!
