This is maybe our fave reboot news ever: Roseanne is getting its own revival.

Now THIS is exactly the nostalgic sitcom we need in our lives right now. If you missed out on the classic, slash, weren’t catching it on after-school reruns like the rest of the (civilized, educated) people in the world, Roseanne wasn’t just a fun and funny sitcom. It was really relatable and heartfelt in a way that a lot of television still isn’t — especially comedy — and focused on the real struggles of a working-class family, which is so rare in a TV landscape filled with the glammest of the glam.

On top of that, the writers’ room fostered talent like, oh, no big deal — just Amy Sherman-Palladino, a.k.a. the creator of Gilmore Girls and Joss Whedon, a.k.a. everybody’s genre overlord. So yeah, there are a LOT of reasons to be grateful for Roseanne.

It seems like the details of the reboot are still being worked out — while the show’s original executive producers are attached to do the revival, the project hasn’t yet been sold to a network, but it is being bid on.

This news comes from Deadline, and they explain that ABC and Netflix are both in the running to house this classic, and either way, we’re excited. There’s also no specific casting news yet, but rumor has it that all of the original cast intend to return. Also according to Deadline, Roseanne Barr once said where she envisioned all of the characters in the future:

So, yeah. This is gonna be good.
