In "Riverdale," female friendships are basically all #SquadGoals
Over the weekend, the cast of The CW’s latest hit teen show Riverdale visited WonderCon to be adorable and remind us all that we should be watching Riverdale. HelloGiggles sat down to chat with Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge) and Ashleigh Murray (Josie McCoy) to talk about the role of female friendships on the show and pretty much how they’re all #SquadGoals.
When we first brought up how cool the female friendships on Riverdale are, Camila had one thing to say:
In a show that could turn into an actual pussycat fight pretty easily, it’s refreshing to see a group of teen girls who have each other’s backs. Ashleigh (Josie herself!) agrees:
And you probably remember the episode that spawned the #JusticeForEthel campaign when Stranger Things‘ Shannon Purser was a guest on the show, yeah?. The episode centered on the girls getting revenge for one another. And according to Camila, that episode was a pretty special one for them:
