Pokemon Go is coming to “The Mindy Project” and disaster follows
It’s no news that celebrities are just as obsessed with Pokémon Go as the rest of us.
Like Trevor Noah:
And John Mayer:
So it should come as no surprise to us that Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling) should want to play it on The Mindy Project, too.
Mindy’s been playing the game, show executive producers Kaling and Matt Warburton told reporters at Television Critics Association summer press tour panel — until she fell into the reflecting pool at the 9/11 memorial and was subsequently banned. (We assume they mean the character, not Mindy Kaling herself.)
“We as a staff have been playing Pokémon Go,” Warburton said.
Since people say “write what you know,” it makes sense that Warbuton and his staff have been testing out Pokémon Go for themselves.
Good excuse, good excuse, amirite?
See? Some people really do have their staffs play it together:
In a way, we should all be lucky we can even play the game, as not everyone can.
(Just don’t play it at a Rihanna concert, though.)
Remember, you can see Mindy’s disastrous — and I’m sure hilarious — Pokémon Go-playing on season five of The Mindy Project, which debuts on Hulu on Oct. 4.
