Your favorite CW shows are coming to Netflix — but there’s a huge catch
Our new favorite couple: Netflix and The CW.
In what is sure to be a beautiful partnership, Netflix and The CW have decided to work together to bring us all of our favorite shows as quickly as possible. In a brand new deal, CW shows will be available on Netflix eight days after the season finishes airing. Eight days!! So in 2017, when Jane the Virgin airs its Season 3 season finale on a Monday, the following Tuesday every single episode will be at your finger tips.
This is huge, and will be the case for all CW shows, including Jane, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Flash, Arrow, Supernatural, and yes, even Supergirl.
However, there’s a huge BUT. As of now, The CW has broken up with Hulu. That means, you won’t be able to stream CW shows on Hulu the day after they air anymore. You will only be able to watch CW shows on Netflix, and only after the entire season has concluded. That means, if you miss two episodes of The Flash…you’re kinda stuck.
There’s always The CW website, and the CW streaming app to catch up on missed episodes, but those options include commercials, and many of us are probably used to watching The Flash without commercials at our connivence thanks to Hulu. Well, not anymore.
And don’t forget there’s always the option of actually watching the episodes live on the CW, but with so much TV on TV right now, it’s very, very hard to pick what to watch live and what to watch later. With this new Netflix and CW relationship, you just might want to save it all to binge later.
