"Riverdale's" Luke Perry and KJ Apa are basically like father and son IRL
Over the weekend, the cast and producers of The CW’s hit soapy teen show Riverdale visited WonderCon in Anaheim to talk about Season 1, and just basically show off how much they adore each other. HelloGiggles sat down to chat with them during the con about their totes adorbs relationship. What you see on TV is real, and TBH we’re sad we’re not a party of this delightful family.
KJ Apa (Archie Andrews) and Luke Perry (Fred Andrews) very realistically play father and son on Riverdale. And, if you didn’t already know, they’re totally charming IRL. Plus, it turns out, their father/son relationship felt natural from the start.
KJ even crashed on the couch (by accident) at Luke’s house the other day when Luke was planning to introduce him to his actual son. So basically, they’re adorable. As Luke explained:
And what’s on the horizon for the Anders family? Archie’s mom is also set to show up in Riverdale, played by none other than teen icon Molly Ringwald. While we’re all psyched for that, Luke himself is pretty psyched.
Those in attendance at the Wonder-Con panel got a quick sneak peek during a Season 1 sizzle reel (literally three seconds) and the excitement is overflowing. Archie is basically the luckiest kid ever. But Archie and Fred will always be father/son #RelationshipGoals. KJ agrees.
Awwwww. There’s plenty of father-son bonding over the rest of Season 1 and in Season 2 as well so make sure to catch up. Riverdale airs Thursdays on The CW.
