Praise God! We just got the news that Hulu has renewed The Handmaid’s Tale for Season 2. Thank goodness this #TooReal look into the future we’re all trying to avoid will continue for at least another season. But what does this mean for Offred and company?! We can’t help but be excited for more episodes despite the fact that the longer the show goes on, the more terrifying it’s likely to get!
The first three episodes of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale were released all at once at the end of April and now a week later we’ve got news that a Season 2 is *for sure* happening.
…and it gives us mixed feelings honestly. The show is amazing but just how long will this terrible-ness go on?! It seems like it could potentially be much longer than two seasons. Star Elisabeth Moss (she plays Offred/June) told Vulture that she signed a five-to-seven year contract. Could we really end up getting five seasons of the show?!? Praise be. Although, that’s probably bad news for Offred…
But since the Margaret Atwood book the series is based on likely won’t carry us through season two, what will happen to the characters? And will the show just continue to feel SO REAL that we can’t even distinguish the two anymore?
New episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 1 are released Wednesdays on Hulu. So grab your bonnet and hold on tight. We have no idea where this train is headed but we’re guessing it’s going to get even more interesting.
