Gendry has often thought about Arya over the last four seasons of "Game of Thrones," because love is real
If you haven’t seen the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, please row, row, row away because spoilers are coming!
Season 7 of Game of Thrones has been a fast-paced season inciting numerous excited declarations of, “It finally happened!” Keeping with tradition, during “Eastwatch,” it finally happened: Long-lost rower Gendry reemerged at Flea Bottom in King’s Landing. It was a joyous occasion. Gendry reunited with Ser Davos, met Jon Snow, and quickly dove into the plot as he headed north with his new BFF and surrogate dad to take on the army of the dead.
As Jon and Gendry headed north to Eastwatch-by-the-sea, we couldn’t help but yell at our TVs, “Go to Winterfell and see Arya first!” Unfortunately, they didn’t listen to us and now they’re somewhere beyond The Wall while Arya and Littlefinger are playing a terrifying game of Cat and Mouse. Arya and Gendry were so important to each other during the first three seasons and it was devastating to see them split up after Gendry is sold to Melisandre.
So much has changed since they saw each other last but we’ve been not-so-secretly hoping they’d reunite soon. But since this *is* Game of Thrones and happy endings are not guaranteed, we’re growing nervous that it’ll never happen.
According to Joe Dempsie, who plays Gendry, despite everything that’s happened since Season 3, the young blacksmith hasn’t forgotten about Arya.
Sometimes true love is real!
Gendry and Arya’s friendship was one of the best parts of the first few seasons, back when there was still some innocence. We desperately need Gendry to survive his death mission north of the The Wall so they can reunite ASAP.
