Dany rides a dragon in the preview for next week's "Game of Thrones," and we are so ready for this
Daenerys Targeryen’s quest for the Iron Throne is not going according to plan, and it looks like she’s about to take matters into her own hands. Spoilers for all the episodes, and then some, of Season 7 of Game of Thrones.
When the Mother of Dragons left Essos for Westeros, she was armed with allies in the Greyjoys, Sand Snakes, and Lady Olenna Tyrell and *looked* practically unbeatable. But, this is Game of Thrones, and Cersei Lannister is not going down without a fight to the death. Dany’s already back to square one, as all of her new allies are dead or captured.
In the preview for Episode 4 of Season 7, “The Spoils of War,” Dany and her dragons are heading into battle.
While Dany was strategizing and playing hardball with potential ally (and secret nephew) Jon Snow, Cersei and her few but savage allies decimated the Greyjoy armada, killed or captured all the Sand Snakes, and took Highgarden. Dany and her council have been planning tactical warfare, but it’s clearly no match for Cersei’s bloodthirsty approach. Now Dany and her dragons are getting involved personally.
With all her allies gone, it seems an alliance between Dany and Jon is more important than ever — something they’re both acutely aware of.
Maybe now they’ll cut to the chase and stop being so passive aggressive?
Meanwhile, it seems that Cersei’s recent victories have restored the Iron Bank of Braavos’s faith and investment in her while Jaime — blinded by his love — continues to be the worst enabler in all of Westeros as he leads her army. But that’s not all! Jon and Dany look for Dragonglass, Sansa continues to be a boss in Winterfell while Littlefinger lurks about, and WHAT? Is that Arya back in the North?
“The Spoils of War” airs Sunday on HBO and we’re praying to the old Gods, the new, *even* the Lord of Light that Sunday hurries up and arrives quickly.
