This long-dead "Game of Thrones" character has had way more screen time than we would've thought
There are still so many characters left on Game of Thrones (even in Season 7!) that it’s hard to narrow down who exactly is the main character of the show. Thankfully, statistics are here and to the rescue! IMDB user ninewheels0 has ranked the characters on Game of Thrones by screen time — and this could cause some drama.
Game of Thrones is known for, in part, the many characters it’s killed off — many of them main characters.
Those characters are gone, but not forgotten, with this IMDB list that factors in instances in which characters appeared as their younger selves (looking at you, unknown Jon Snow baby) and when characters appeared in disguise (hi, Arya 👋👋). It shouldn’t be shocking at all to see who the top two characters are, since they’ve both received more than 30 minutes of screen time every single season.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) top the list! So if you’re wondering who you’re spending the most time watching run around Westeros, it’s these dudes. Both have appeared onscreen for 320+ minutes over the course of the seven seasons.
The third-ranked character is Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), who has 50+ minutes less than them at 268 minutes.
The next three ladies on the list all have about 35-45 minutes less than Dany. Sansa (Sophie Turner) has about 231 minutes, Cersei (Lena Headley) has about 223 minutes, and Arya (Maisie Williams) clocks in at 221 minutes.
A surprising ranking on the list?
Ned Stark (Sean Bean), who was killed WAY back in Season 1, still ranks 13th overall. He appeared onscreen for about 99 minutes and beat out other major characters who are still around on the show. Like Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright).
