It’s always super exciting when beloved TV series get a makeover, and oh hey, that’s happening right now with DuckTales! Huey, Dewey, Louie, Donald Duck, and Scrooge are characters very near and dear to our hearts, so the upcoming reboot on Disney XD is pretty exciting stuff.

According to E! News, DuckTales won’t debut till 2017, so there’s a bit of a wait. But we trust that devoted fans are willing to sit patiently and wait for their ducks.

Disney XD Senior Vice President of Programming Mark Buhaj spoke passionately about the major influence of the show. “DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults.”

Buhaj goes on to hint at the exciting adventures that await us. “Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.” And if you remember, DuckTales always featured some crazy, high-flying, head-spinning, sometimes hysterical adventures (or should we say, misadventures), so this is eagerly anticipated.

As far as a more substantial sneak peek into the new look, fans will be able to view some teaser art in the comic book DuckTales Cinestory Volume 1, which will be available at San Diego Comic-Con. Of course, local comic book stores will also carry the comic beginning in September 27th.

To get you even more in the mood for what’s to come, here’s the DuckTales theme song to make you all nostalgic and happy-like.
