We’re halfway through Game of Thrones Season 7, and it’s safe to say that things are heating up, literally. Warning, spoilers for the most recent episode of GoT, “The Spoils of War.” If you *haven’t* seen the episode, jump ship Theon-style ASAP.

Well friends, it finally happened. A real life battle between the Lannister and Targaryen armies — featuring DRAGONS. After a few very smart technical victories against Dany and her allies, Jaime learned that his army was no match for the Dothraki and Drogon during Dany’s version of the Field of Fire.

Despite her *very* fiery introduction to Westerosi people, it seems Dany is trying hard to prove she’s not her father’s daughter in the preview for next week’s episode, “Eastwatch.”

It seems Dany is walking the fine line between “The Mad King’s daughter” and unstoppable warrior, and it’s making her council *pretty* nervous. The Mother of Dragons attempts to persuade the decimated Lannister and Tarly armies to bend the knee and join her, but her threat of death probably isn’t going to sell it. It’s clear that this battle will have serious ramifications, and it seems Varys and Tyrion are thinking the exact same thing.

Meanwhile, Jon is *still* trying to get Dany to care about the impending invasion of the White Walkers. He seemed to be making progress in “The Spoils of War,” but his refusal to bend the knee is getting in the way. The White Walkers have spent the majority of this season waiting patiently for Dany and Cersei’s war to heat up before reminding viewers that we’re in the midst of TWO wars.

Seeing as the episode’s title is “Eastwatch” we have a feeling we’ll be catching up with Tormund and the Wildlings — who are guarding the Night’s Watch Eastwatch-by-the-sea — and Beric Dondarrion, The Hound, and the rest of the Brotherhood without Banners, who are making their way to Eastwatch, as well.

Despite not having an *official* alliance, Jon and Davos have practically joined Dany’s council and are pulling out all the stops to convince Dany that she needs to fight the White Walkers with him ASAP.

“The Spoils of War” proved that Game of Thrones *can* put on a glorious show in only 50 minutes, so we’re almost nervous about what to expect next. Jaime was noticeably absent in the preview for “Eastwatch” but there’s no way he actually died, so he’ll either go crawling back to Cersei or have an awkward reunion with Tyrion as a prisoner of war.

We’re more than halfway through the season so we should get prepared for more awkward reunions and (finally) another White Walker battle.
