The wait is finally over: Rachel Bloom released her “Period Sex” music video and it’s…accurate. This video has been a long time coming, and yet we still weren’t prepared for it.

Throughout Season 2 of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, it’s been teased that a song called “Period Sex” would be revealed. It’s been hinted at, sung a few bars of, and talked about, but never shown in its entirety.

In fact, every time the song began on an episode, it was cut off before it got too far. Now, however, the show’s leading lady and creator has released it. Yes, Bloom has released the entire song and a video, and wow, just wow.

Fair warning: This tune is graphic.

It’s hilariously accurate, but graphic nonetheless. Really, what else would you expect from the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend team? They’re wild in the best way possible!

This isn’t the first song to come from the CW series, but it is the most intense. Yes, it’s even more detailed than the urinary tract infection tune.

So what does the video look like?

It has a lot of clips from the TV series, for starters. Plus, the video features Bloom singing in a red dress. The best — and worst — part is how honest the lyrics are. They’re funny, don’t get us wrong, but they’re a little gross.

The lyrics include lines like, “it must be summer ’cause we’re gonna slip and slide.” Yes, really. There is also a line that says, “Period sex, period sex, it’s a little gross, but I’m less likely to get pregnant during period sex, period sex.” LOL.

If you want — or need — more from Bloom and her hilarious cast, check out the “Sex with a Stranger” song. It’s also super funny.
