The first four minutes of the new season of Once Upon a Time have arrived and we are *not* in Storybrooke anymore.
At least not really. Following the Season 6 finale, we learned that Season 7 of OUAT would be a *major* reset and send our storybook heroes on all sorts of new adventures, but in a different story and/or realm. There are lots of different versions of every single fairy tale, you know.
The premiere of Season 7 opens with Regina (Lana Parilla) saying goodbye to Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) as he hops on August’s motorcycle (!!) to explore different realms — because he’s the only Henry and he needs to see what’s out there and find his own story. Cut to now-adult Henry (Andrew J. West) cruising through the woods of an unmentioned realm when he *literally* runs Cinderella (Dania Ramirez) off the road. Whoops.
Not gonna lie, Henry definitely Longbottomed a little bit — but hey, he *is* the grandson of Prince Charming.
Now that the latest curse has been lifted, and everyone has their own happy ending, everything’s just fine and dandy for our favorite former Storybrooke resident, right? Not quite. Season 7 follows a new curse, this time relating to Cinderella and her evil step-mother, Lady Tremaine (Gabrielle Anwar). Earlier this summer, it was revealed that the key to this curse isn’t Henry, but his daughter Lucy (Alison Fernandez), whose mother is Cinderella.
So based on the first few minutes of the season premiere, we’ll be learning a little bit about how the two first meet.
But, just because Henry left Storybrooke doesn’t mean he won’t have help with this new curse. According to the official plot synopsis, Regina (aka The Evil Queen), Hook, (Colin O’Donoghue) and Mr. Gold (aka Rumpelstiltskin, played by Robert Carlyle) will join in on the epic quest to save the realm.
We may have been a little skeptical about this reset but we really want to see more! Once Upon a Time will officially return to ABC on October 6th!
