Get excited Bones fans, because the crime show officially has a premiere date!

The beginning of the end is almost upon us now that Bones‘ final season premiere date has been announced by the network. Prepare yourself for those tearful goodbyes come January 3, when the show will be back on your TV screens for the final time.

While news of when you get to see Temperance Brennan aka Bones (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) back together is exciting it’s also very bittersweet since Season 12 will be the last for the FOX crime drama.

The good news however, is that Fox didn’t just announce when the series will be coming back, it also gave us a few teasers to tide us over until its return — including some love news!

According to Fox’s press release, there is a lot going on as we get ready to bid farewell to the Jeffersonian and FBI characters that we’ve come to love. This final season will definitely celebrate the two lead characters and their crime-solving/crime-fighting teams, but there are other characters we must say goodbye to as well.

Fans will also get to see a lot of personal growth within the storylines, which will include an “epic serial killer storyline,” and most importantly — at least in our minds — a wedding! Fingers crossed Cam and Arastoo’s big day is full of love and magic and maybe not in a jail cell like Hodgins and Angela’s wedding was.

Oh, and like always, the creators promise to make us all a little uneasy as we’ll see “Booth and Brennan’s marriage get put to the test.” Ugh, why can’t they just live happily, ever after for once?

Ah, we can’t wait to see how things end on Bones when it returns this January. Don’t forget to mark your calendars and tune in beginning Tuesday, Jan. 3 on Fox!
