We don’t need to remind you of all the terrible political things going on right now in the United States. But we do need to remind you that amidst the darkness, there is light. And today that light is the brand new trailer for Bill Nye the Science Guy’s Netflix show.

Bill Nye Saves the World will be Nye’s second show available for streaming on Netflix, but his first Netflix original series. The original, of course, was the 1993 show Bill Nye, the Science Guy.

You know, when times were simpler and when Nye had more hair.

Nye hosted the original talk show while exploring scientific issues from gravity to chemical reactions to digestion to everything in between. All 31 episodes were dedicated completely to science, and seemingly Nye’s bow ties. So if the new show is anything like the original, we’re in for a seriously scientific treat.

The trailer is brief, but it gives enough of a look at the setup of Bill Nye Saves the World to know that it’s going to be just as amazing and silly as the original. It will have just as many special guests, chemical reactions, silly dance moves…and bow ties. This time around, however, Nye is older and wiser and has an agenda.

Nye has been incredibly outspoken about global warming and saving the planet, so it’s no surprise that many of the topics will entail discussion of important issues. Nye will tackle issues like global warming, GMOs, technology, alternative medicine, and sex.

Yep, sex. That won’t be awkward or anything.

Special appearances will be made by Karlie Kloss, Zach Braff, Rachel Bloom, Tim Gunn, Donald Faison, Joel McHale, and Steve Aoki — so we’re obviously in for a fun and educational time.

Bill Nye Saves the World will air premiere on Netflix on April 21st. If anyone can save the world, it’s definitely Bill Nye.
