The nominations for the 69th Annual Emmy Awards were announced this morning and it looks like it’s a great day to be an Otter Bay mom as four of the five major actresses from Big Little Lies were nominated for Emmys.

ALL. THE. YES.

Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon each scored a nom in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category, while Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern were each nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. Unfortunately,  Zoe Kravitz was snubbed for a supporting nomination for her role as Bonnie Carlson.

The HBO limited series — based on the book by Liane Moriarty — became an instant phenomenon when it premiered back in January. Running just seven episodes, Big Little Lies delved into the seemingly perfect — but in fact, very complicated — lives of the wealthy residents of Monterey, California.

The limited series was nominated for 16 Emmys total, including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie (for Alexander Skarsgard’s terrifying portrayal of the abusive Perry Wright) and Outstanding Limited Series.

Witherspoon took to Instagram to share her excitement about the series’ many nominations.

She wrote, "Wow!! So thrilled about the 16 #Emmys nominations for #BigLittleLies! An incredible team of cast & crew worked so hard to make this happen! Thanks to all the fans that made it so successful!"

And note, in addition to starring in the project, Witherspoon and Kidman also served as executive producers.

While Big Little Lies is competing in some *very* stacked categories, it’s safe to say it made quite the impression and we expect it to fare pretty well when the Emmys are held on September 17th.
