"The Big Bang Theory" was just renewed for *two* more seasons, and it will probably outlive us all

CBS

Soooo, let’s talk about how The Big Bang Theory was just renewed for seasons 11 and 12, meaning there are fully sentient human beings who can spell and speak and walk and probably have reasonably competent conversation about politics or something who are younger than The Big Bang Theory. Can you IMAGINE? There are people on the planet who literally do not remember a world in which there was no Big Bang Theory.

It’s completely mind-boggling, but completely true! CBS has officially renewed the much beloved sitcom for at least two more seasons, taking it to over a decade on the air, guaranteed.

Getting renewed a couple seasons in advance is always a boon to the writers because it means they can make ~plans~ that you typically can’t make when you don’t know if you’re going to be returning the next year. We’re looking forward to some seriously well-executed plot lines and character development (hopefully).

Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar have all renewed their contracts through season twelve, and Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch are expected to sign too.

It’s nice to know the actors are keen to stay with these characters for a couple more years, and what’s even nicer is that CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller seems happy to renew the show, too. Since it’s often the networks snatching our fave shows out of our hands much too soon, it’s super encouraging to see a CBS head speak so positively of ~eternal life~ for The Big Bang Theory crew.

“We’ll put it on for as long as everyone wants Big Bang on the air. I hope it lasts forever,” Geller said.

Same, dude. Same.
