Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers brought back one of their classic "SNL" bits
One of the best things about the past and present cast of Saturday Night Live is the fact that they seem so close outside of Studio 8H. While promoting her new film The House, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers brought back a bit from the show that’s always a crowd favorite. Back in the day, when the two were partners on Weekend Update, they teamed up together for a segment called “Really!?! with Seth and Amy” that shined a light on a ridiculous news story that happened that week.
Luckily, Poehler was game to recreate the magic on Late Night. And as expected, it totally brought us back to the good old days.
The topic at hand was a Shakespeare in the Park performance of Julius Caesar. In the show, Caesar apparently resembled President Trump. This angered a few people in the audience, and protests were held during the last few showings.
And that made Poehler and Meyers exclaim, “Really!?!”
As per usual, the two played off of each other perfectly.
Poehler couldn’t believe that protestors spent three hours watching a play, in which they got tickets to see, just for the moment to “save” someone who vaguely resembled the President.
She even blamed the protestors for Daniel Day-Lewis quitting his job as an actor. Pretty funny stuff.
So uh…can Poehler make nightly appearances on Late Night from here on out? Because we definitely need more segments like this in the future.
