At long last, Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story returned last night with the season premiere of Cult. Between a handful of terrorizing clowns (including Twisty!) and the creepy, Cheeto aficionado Kai (Evan Peters), it delivered plenty of scares. And as to be expected, there’s a lot more of that ahead.

Because from the trailer for next week’s American Horror Story, it looks like Kai will continue to send chills down our spines.

In the trailer, Kai asks Ally (Sarah Paulson) to let him inside her house. “It’s so hot out here,” he says. “Can I come in for a glass of water, please?” She refuses, so he shakes the bars guarding her front door and points out that they’re “strong.” That’s not creepy at all…

Then, Winter (Billie Lourd) asks Oz, the son of Ally and her wife Ivy (Alison Pill), to give her his fear. Soon after, we see a bunch of clowns chasing him. Ally sees more clowns too, and her therapist Dr. Rudy Vincent (Cheyenne Jackson) tells Ivy that he’s concerned that Ally is exhibiting signs of agoraphobia.

And, um, same. Are the clowns real? Or aren’t they? What the hell is Kai up to? What’s going to happen to poor Ally?!

THAT’S NOT ALWAYS SO EASY, WINTER, WHEN PEOPLE DOUBT YOU AT EVERY TURN.

Anyway…American Horror Story: Cult airs on FX on Tuesdays, so start mentally preparing for the many more terrors ahead.
