Ryan Murphy may have just confirmed how all "American Horror Story" seasons are connected, and we should have guessed
Are you someone who lies awake at night, trying to figure out the mysteries of American Horror Story? Cool, me too. And now, thanks to Ryan Murphy, we might have a HUGE piece of the puzzle in front of us. As he’s told us many times before, all seasons of AHS are somehow connected. How? Still haven’t figured that out, and this is why I’m still awake at night.
But I might soon be able to sleep. Posting to Instagram — which seems to be his preferred form of communication — Murphy shared a note he seemingly wrote on his iPhone. The contents of the note sure are interesting, as they list off the nine circles of hell — and the corresponding AHS seasons.
Yes, we should have known this all along. The current seven seasons of AHS all relate back to a level of hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, wrath, heresy, violence, fraud, treachery.
As you can see from his picture, all of the levels have corresponding seasons (including the upcoming Cult, which is heresy. Cool). Except, there are actually nine circles, and we haven’t seen two represented: lust and violence. These are two circles of hell that do not have AHS seasons. Conveniently, AHS has been renewed for (at least) two more seasons! Huh. Funny how that works out.
Except, considering how lustful and violent these past seasons have been, how is Murphy even going to top what he’s already done? We’ll just have to wait and see what happens with the last two circles, and if this interesting Instagram post turns out to be the connective tissue through this entire anthology series. I’d like a good night’s sleep once again.
